NCBI Description

Part of the putative ycjM-V operon, which encodes a putative transport and catabolism system for an unknown sugar. [More information is available at EcoGene: EG13910].

Uniprot Description

Catalyzes the reversible phosphorolysis of glucosylglycerate into alpha-D-glucose 1-phosphate (Glc1P) and D-glycerate. May be a regulator of intracellular levels of glucosylglycerate, a compatible solute that primarily protects organisms facing salt stress and very specific nutritional constraints. Cannot catalyze the phosphorolysis of sucrose.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Putative sucrose phosphorylase (ycjM), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
