Related Product Information for XCL1 recombinant protein
Lymphotactin, also known as XCL1, is member of gamma or C subfamily of chemokines. It is found in high levels in spleen, thymus, intestine and peripheral blood leukocytes, and at lower levels in lung, prostate gland and ovary. The expression of lymphotactin is restricted to activated T cells such as activated CD8+ T cells and other calss IMHC restricted T cells. Since lymphotactin is produced by lymphocytes and acts on lymphocytes, it is speculated that it is a messenger in T cell chemoattraction. Recombinant human XCL1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.

NCBI Description

This antimicrobial gene encodes a member of the chemokine superfamily. Chemokines function in inflammatory and immunological responses, inducing leukocyte migration and activation. The encoded protein is a member of the C-chemokine subfamily, retaining only two of four cysteines conserved in other chemokines, and is thought to be specifically chemotactic for T cells. This gene and a closely related family member are located on the long arm of chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]

Uniprot Description

Chemotactic activity for lymphocytes but not for monocytes or neutrophils. In thymus, mediates medullary accumulation of thymic dendritic cells and contributes to regulatoy T cell development, playing a role in self-tolerance establishment.

Product Notes

The XCL1 xcl1 (Catalog #AAA203317) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's Lymphotactin/XCL1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the XCL1 xcl1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MVGSEVSDKR TCVSLTTQRL PVSRIKTYTI TEGSLRAVIF ITKRGLKVCA DPQATWVRDV VRSMDRKSNT RNNMIQTKPT GTQQSTNTAV TLTG. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lymphotactin/XCL1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
