NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) family. The protein is expressed in a broad range of cell types, acts as a pleiotropic cytokine and is involved in the stress reponse program of cells after cellular injury. Increased protein levels are associated with disease states such as tissue hypoxia, inflammation, acute injury and oxidative stress. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Product Notes

The GDF 15 gdf15 (Catalog #AAA343244) is a Western Blot Control and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF 15), Western Blot Control" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
