>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Synonyms
Cytomegalovirus pp150 (UL32); Cytomegalovirus pp150 (UL32) Recombinant; cmv; pp150; ul32; CMV pp150 recombinant protein
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Form/Format
Lyophilized from 25mM Tris-Hcl pH 7.2, 1mM EDTA and 50% glycerol.
Sequence Length
1048
Application Notes
CMV pp150 antigen is suitable for ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for detection of CMV with minimal specificity problems.
Host Note
DNA sequence encoding immunodominant fragment of Cytomegalovirus 150kDa structural phosphoprotein was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
Recombinant CMV pp150 (UL32) encodes the immunodominant sequences of the Cytomegalovirus matrix phosphoprotein. This molecule has a calculated mass of approximately 22kDa.

Recombinant CMV pp150 contains an N terminal GST purification tag and migrates as an approximately 52 kDa protein under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this protein can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Uniprot Description

Function: Participates in the last steps of viral maturation and release. Associates with nuclear capsids prior to DNA encapsidation and later preserves the integrity of nucleocapsids through secondary envelopment at the assembly compartment. Ref.9 Ref.10

Subunit structure: Interacts with host BICD1. Ref.11

Subcellular location: Virion tegument. Host cytoplasm. Host nucleus. Note: Found initially localized in the host nucleus, associated either with the nuclear membrane or with viral assembly regions, and later in the host cytoplasm. Ref.8

Post-translational modification: Phosphorylated at multiple sites.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the herpesviridae large structural phosphoprotein family.

Product Notes

The CMV pp150 ul32 (Catalog #AAA553087) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. CMV pp150 antigen is suitable for ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for detection of CMV with minimal specificity problems. . Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CMV pp150 ul32 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cytomegalovirus pp150 (UL32), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
