Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. The loss of this protein is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
UDP-glucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase (UGT) is a soluble protein of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) that selectively reglucosylates unfolded glycoproteins, thus providing quality control for protein transport out of the ER.[supplied by OMIM, Oct 2009]
Uniprot Description
UGCGL1: Recognizes glycoproteins with minor folding defects. Reglucosylates single N-glycans near the misfolded part of the protein, thus providing quality control for protein folding in the endoplasmic reticulum. Reglucosylated proteins are recognized by calreticulin for recycling to the endoplasmic reticulum and refolding or degradation. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 8 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Transferase; EC 2.4.1.-
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q14.3
Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum lumen; endoplasmic reticulum; ER-Golgi intermediate compartment
Molecular Function: unfolded protein binding; UDP-glucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase activity
Biological Process: 'de novo' posttranslational protein folding; cellular protein metabolic process; protein folding; protein amino acid N-linked glycosylation via asparagine; post-translational protein modification

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "UDP-Glucose Glycoprotein Glucosyltransferase 1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
