Related Product Information for THAP1 recombinant protein
THAP domain-containing protein 1, also known as THAP1, is a 213 amino acid protein that localizes to the nucleoplasm and contains one THAPtype zinc finger, a conserved DNA-binding domain. It is a DNA-binding transcription regulator that regulates endothelial cell proliferation and G1/S cell-cycle progression. THAP1 may also have pro-apoptopic activity by potentiating both serum-withdrawal and TNF-induced apoptosis. Recombinant human THAP1protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene contains a THAP domain, a conserved DNA-binding domain. This protein colocalizes with the apoptosis response protein PAWR/PAR-4 in promyelocytic leukemia (PML) nuclear bodies, and functions as a proapoptotic factor that links PAWR to PML nuclear bodies. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DNA-binding transcription regulator that regulates endothelial cell proliferation and G1/S cell-cycle progression. Specifically binds the 5'-[AT]NTNN[GT]GGCA[AGT]-3' core DNA sequence and acts by modulating expression of pRB-E2F cell-cycle target genes, including RRM1. Component of a THAP1/THAP3-HCFC1-OGT complex that is required for the regulation of the transcriptional activity of RRM1. May also have pro-apoptopic activity by potentiating both serum-withdrawal and TNF-induced apoptosis.

Product Notes

The THAP1 thap1 (Catalog #AAA204170) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's THAP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the THAP1 thap1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSHMVQSCS AYGCKNRYDK DKPVSFHKFP LTRPSLCKEW EAAVRRKNFK PTKYSSICSE HFTPDCFKRE CNNKLLKENA VPTIFLCTEP HDKKEDLLEP QEQLPPPPLP PPVSQVDAAI GLLMPPLQTP VNLSVFCDHN YTVEDTMHQR KRIHQLEQQV EKLRKKLKTA QQRCRRQERQ LEKLKEVVHF QKEKDDVSER GYVILPNDYF EIVEVPA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "THAP1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
