Related Product Information for PL 7 recombinant protein
Description: Threonyl-tRNA Synthetase Human Recombinant produced in SF9 is a glycosylated, polypeptide chain having a molecular mass of 83,312 Dalton. PL-7 is expressed with a -6xHis tag and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Introduction: Threonyl-tRNA Synthetase is a member of the aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family, key enzymes of protein biosynthesis which charge tRNA molecules with the respective amino acids. This 83 kDa protein is an autoantigen recognized by PL-7 antibodies which occur in a subset of patients with polymyositis and dermatomyositis. Preliminary data suggest that PL-7 antibodies (similar to Jo-1 antibodies) indicate an increased risk for lung involvement, but this needs to be confirmed for a larger number of cases.

NCBI Description

Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyze the aminoacylation of tRNA by their cognate amino acid. Because of their central role in linking amino acids with nucleotide triplets contained in tRNAs, aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are thought to be among the first proteins that appeared in evolution. Threonyl-tRNA synthetase belongs to the class-II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The PL 7 tars (Catalog #AAA142445) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 Insect Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Threonyl t-RNA Synthetase, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
