Principle of the Assay: T3 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-T3 antibody and an T3-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with T3-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the T3 concentration since T3 from samples and T3-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-T3 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by T3 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind T3-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The T3 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene belongs to a family of genes that function as receptors for tachykinins. Receptor affinities are specified by variations in the 5'-end of the sequence. The receptors belonging to this family are characterized by interactions with G proteins and 7 hydrophobic transmembrane regions. This gene encodes the receptor for the tachykinin neurokinin 3, also referred to as neurokinin B. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
TACR3: This is a receptor for the tachykinin neuropeptide neuromedin-K (neurokinin B). It is associated with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The rank order of affinity of this receptor to tachykinins is: neuromedin-K > substance K > substance P. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Product Notes
The Rat TACR3 tacr3 (Catalog #AAA720166) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA720166 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat TACR3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tachykinin Receptor 3, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
