GSS sirna
GSS siRNA (Rat)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
catalyzes the synthesis of glutathione from gamma-L-glutamyl-L-cysteine and glycine; activity is ATP-dependent [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
GSS: Defects in GSS are the cause of glutathione synthetase deficiency (GSS deficiency); also known as 5- oxoprolinuria or pyroglutamic aciduria. It is a severe form characterized by an increased rate of hemolysis and defective function of the central nervous system. Defects in GSS are the cause of glutathione synthetase deficiency of erythrocytes (GLUSYNDE)[MIM:231900]. Glutathione synthetase deficiency of erythrocytes is a mild form causing hemolytic anemia. Belongs to the eukaryotic GSH synthase family.
Protein type: Ligase; EC 6.3.2.3; Other Amino Acids Metabolism - glutathione
Molecular Function: protein homodimerization activity; glutathione binding; glycine binding; magnesium ion binding; glutathione synthase activity; peptide binding; ATP binding
Biological Process: response to nutrient levels; response to xenobiotic stimulus; response to cadmium ion; glutathione biosynthetic process; response to amino acid stimulus; aging

Product Notes
The GSS gss (Catalog #AAA8223322) is a siRNA produced from Synthetic and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GSS siRNA (Rat) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GSS can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, RNA Interference (RNAi). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GSS gss for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GSS, siRNA" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
