GLRB siRNA (Rat)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
plays a role in synaptic transmission [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
GLRB: The glycine receptor is a neurotransmitter-gated ion channel. Binding of glycine to its receptor increases the chloride conductance and thus produces hyperpolarization (inhibition of neuronal firing). Defects in GLRB are the cause of hyperekplexia type 2 (HKPX2). HKPX2 is a neurologic disorder characterized by muscular rigidity of central nervous system origin, particularly in the neonatal period, and by an exaggerated startle response to unexpected acoustic or tactile2 stimuli. Belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.9) family. Glycine receptor (TC 1.A.9.3) subfamily. GLRB sub- subfamily.
Protein type: Transporter, ion channel; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral; Transporter; Channel, ligand-gated
Cellular Component: postsynaptic membrane; membrane; cell; integral to membrane; cell junction

Product Notes
The GLRB glrb (Catalog #AAA8226070) is a siRNA produced from Synthetic and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GLRB siRNA (Rat) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GLRB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, RNA Interference (RNAi). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GLRB glrb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GLRB, siRNA" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
