Related Product Information for Crz peptide
Corazonin is a highly conserved neuropeptide hormone from insects, having cardioacceleratory function. Corazonin (from corazon, Spanish for heart) is produced by lateral brain neurosecretory cells projecting to the corpora cardiaca-corpora allata complex and in neurons of the ventral nerve cord.

Uniprot Description

Function: Cardioactive peptide. Corazonin is probably involved in the physiological regulation of the heart beat. Clock (Clk) and cycle (cyc) proteins negatively regulate Crz transcription in a cell-specific manner. Ref.6

Subcellular location: Corazonin: Secreted. Corazonin precursor-related peptide: Secreted

By similarity.

Tissue specificity: From late embryo to larva, expression is consistently detected in three neuronal groups: dorso-lateral neurons (DL), dorso-medial neurons (DM), and neurons in the ventral nerve cord (vCrz). Both the vCrz and DM groups die via programmed cell death during metamorphosis, whereas the DL neurons persist to adulthood. In adults, expression is seen in a cluster of six to eight neurons per lobe in the pars lateralis (DLP), in numerous neuronal cells in the optic lobes, and in a novel group of four abdominal ganglionic neurons present only in males (ms-aCrz). Projections of the ms-aCrz neurons terminate within the ventral nerve cord, implying a role as interneurons. Terminals of the DLP neurons are found in the retrocerebral complex that produces juvenile hormone and adipokinetic hormone, located in the vicinity of terminals emanating from PDF-containing pacemaking neurons. Ref.6 Ref.7

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the corazonin family.

Mass spectrometry: Molecular mass is 1369.63 Da from positions 20 - 30. Determined by MALDI. Ref.5

Sequence caution: The sequence AAB32283.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous gene model prediction.

Product Notes

The Crz crz (Catalog #AAA658065) is a Peptide produced from Synthetic peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Corazonin, Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
