GLUR1 Blocking Peptide
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes. These receptors are heteromeric protein complexes with multiple subunits, each possessing transmembrane regions, and all arranged to form a ligand-gated ion channel. The classification of glutamate receptors is based on their activation by different pharmacologic agonists. This gene belongs to a family of alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionate (AMPA) receptors. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
GluR1: an integral membrane protein belonging to the glutamate-gated ion channel family. L-glutamate (Glu) acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. Glutamate receptors are heteromeric protein complexes with multiple subunits, each possessing transmembrane regions, and all arranged to form a ligand-gated ion channel. The postsynaptic actions of Glu are mediated by a variety of receptors that are named according to their selective agonists. Each of the four GluR proteins (GRIA1-4) include flip and flop isoforms generated by alternative RNA splicing. Expressed in granule and pyramidal cells in the hippocampal formation.

Product Notes
The GRIA1 gria1 (Catalog #AAA8244175) is a Blocking Peptide produced from Synthetic and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GLUR1 Blocking Peptide reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GLUR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Blocking (BL). Blocking Peptide to the diluted primary antibody in a molar ratio of 10:1 (peptide to antibody) and incubate the mixture at 4 degree C for overnight or at room temperature for 2 hours. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GRIA1 gria1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GLUR1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
