Xenopus SUMO2 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
sumo2-a; hsmt3; smt3b; smt3h2; sumo-2
Synonyms
Xenopus SUMO2; Xenopus SUMO2 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide; Small ubiquitin-related modifier 2-A; SUMO-2-A; sumo2-a; smt3h2; sumo2-a blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of human Xenopus SUMO2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
95
Cellular Location
Nucleus.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for sumo2-a blocking peptide
Ubiquitin-like protein that can be covalently attached to proteins as a monomer or as a lysine-linked polymer. Covalent attachment via an isopeptide bond to its substrates requires prior activation by the E1 complex sae1-sae2 and linkage to the E2 enzyme ube2i, and can be promoted by an E3 ligase such as pias1-4. This post-translational modification on lysine residues of proteins plays a crucial role in a number of cellular processes such as nuclear transport, DNA replication and repair, mitosis and signal transduction. Polymeric sumo2 chains are also susceptible to polyubiquitination which functions as a signal for proteasomal degradation of modified proteins.

Product Notes

The sumo2-a sumo2-a (Catalog #AAA9219464) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Xenopus SUMO2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
