Bovine Signal Transducer And Activator Of Transcription 2 ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: ST3GAL2 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing an anti-ST3GAL2 antibody and an ST3GAL2-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with ST3GAL2-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the ST3GAL2 concentration since ST3GAL2 from samples and ST3GAL2-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-ST3GAL2 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by ST3GAL2 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind ST3GAL2-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The ST3GAL2 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. In response to interferon (IFN), this protein forms a complex with STAT1 and IFN regulatory factor family protein p48 (ISGF3G), in which this protein acts as a transactivator, but lacks the ability to bind DNA directly. Transcription adaptor P300/CBP (EP300/CREBBP) has been shown to interact specifically with this protein, which is thought to be involved in the process of blocking IFN-alpha response by adenovirus. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]
Uniprot Description
STAT2: transcription factor of the STAT family. Phosphorylated and activated by receptor-associated kinases downstream of many cytokines and growth-factor receptors. Binds to the IFN-stimulated response element (ISRE) and to the Gas element. This multiprotein transcription factor is termed ISGF3. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes
The Bovine STAT2 stat2 (Catalog #AAA740277) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA740277 ELISA Kit recognizes Bovine STAT2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Signal Transducer And Activator Of Transcription 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
