Rat Steroidogenic Acute Regulatory Protein ELISA Kit | STAR elisa kit

Rat Steroidogenic Acute Regulatory Protein ELISA Kit

Gene Names
STAR; STARD1
Reactivity
Rat
Synonyms
Steroidogenic Acute Regulatory Protein; Rat Steroidogenic Acute Regulatory Protein ELISA Kit; STAR elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Rat
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Rat STAR and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces and Urine
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
31.2mumol/L-1000mumol/L.
Sensitivity
5.0mumol/L.
Intended Uses
This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated STAR concentrations in Rat serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Rat STAR antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add STAR and STAR antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of STAR in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene plays a key role in the acute regulation of steroid hormone synthesis by enhancing the conversion of cholesterol into pregnenolone. This protein permits the cleavage of cholesterol into pregnenolone by mediating the transport of cholesterol from the outer mitochondrial membrane to the inner mitochondrial membrane. Mutations in this gene are a cause of congenital lipoid adrenal hyperplasia (CLAH), also called lipoid CAH. A pseudogene of this gene is located on chromosome 13. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

STAR: Plays a key role in steroid hormone synthesis by enhancing the metabolism of cholesterol into pregnenolone. Mediates the transfer of cholesterol from the outer mitochondrial membrane to the inner mitochondrial membrane where it is cleaved to pregnenolone. May interact with TSPO. Expressed in gonads, adrenal cortex and kidney.

Product Notes

The Rat STAR star (Catalog #AAA006463) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA006463 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat STAR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Steroidogenic Acute Regulatory Protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
