Intended Uses: For the quantitative detection of Human Probable global transcription activator SNF2L2 (SMARCA2) concentration in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate SMARCA2 in Human serum, plasma. An antibody specific for SMARCA2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any SMARCA2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for SMARCA2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SMARCA2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the SWI/SNF family of proteins and is highly similar to the brahma protein of Drosophila. Members of this family have helicase and ATPase activities and are thought to regulate transcription of certain genes by altering the chromatin structure around those genes. The encoded protein is part of the large ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex SNF/SWI, which is required for transcriptional activation of genes normally repressed by chromatin. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene, which contains a trinucleotide repeat (CAG) length polymorphism. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]

Uniprot Description

SMARCA2: an enzyme with ATP-dependent DNA helicase activity. A transcriptional coactivator that cooperates with nuclear hormone receptors to potentiate transcriptional activation. Binds TOPBP1. Belongs to the SNF2/RAD54 helicase family. Two alternatively spliced human isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Human SMARCA2 smarca2 (Catalog #AAA282943) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA282943 ELISA Kit recognizes Human SMARCA2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Probable global transcription activator SNF2L2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
