NCBI Description

This gene encodes a cell cycle checkpoint protein. The encoded protein binds to translation and initiation factors and functions as a regulator of mitotic translation. In response to DNA damage this protein plays a role in preventing DNA errors during mitosis. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]

Found in a complex with XPO7, EIF4A1, ARHGAP1, VPS26A, VPS29, VPS35 and SFN. Interacts with GAB2. Interacts with SRPK2. Present mainly in tissues enriched in stratified squamous keratinizing epithelium. Belongs to the 14-3-3 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
