Related Product Information for MKP-5 active protein
MKP-5 (DUSP10) is a member of a group of dual specificity phosphatases which negatively regulate MAP kinases, dephosphorylating both the phosphotyrosine and phosphothreonine in the pTXpY activation loop motif. MKP5 has a principal function in both innate and adaptive immune responses.

Uniprot Description

MKP-5: a non-receptor, dual-specificity phosphoprotein phosphatase (DUSP). Different members of the DUSP family show distinct substrate specificities for MAPKs, different tissue distribution and subcellular localization, and different modes of inducibility of their expression by extracellular stimuli. DUSP10 binds to and inactivates p38 and SAPK/JNK, but not MAPK/ERK. Its subcellular localization is unique; it is evenly distributed in both the cytoplasm and the nucleus. This gene is widely expressed in various tissues and organs, and its expression is elevated by stress stimuli. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. Contains 1 rhodanese domain.

Product Notes

The MKP-5 dusp10 (Catalog #AAA566661) is an Active Protein produced from Sf9 Insect cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MKP-5, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
