Rat SET domain and mariner transposase fusion gene ELISA Kit | SETMAR elisa kit
Rat Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase SETMAR, SETMAR ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a histone-lysine N-methyltransferase that may be involved in the methylation of histone H3. In anthropoid primates this gene is a fusion gene of a SET histone-lysine N-methyltransferase and a mariner (MAR) family transposase. In all other species this gene contains only the SET domain. Uniprot Description
SETMAR: Histone methyltransferase that methylates 'Lys-4' and 'Lys-36' of histone H3, 2 specific tags for epigenetic transcriptional activation. Specifically mediates dimethylation of H3 'Lys-36'. Has sequence-specific DNA-binding activity and recognizes the 19-mer core of the 5'-terminal inverted repeats (TIRs) of the Hsmar1 element. Has DNA nicking activity. Has in vivo end joining activity and may mediate genomic integration of foreign DNA. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Methyltransferase, protein lysine; Amino Acid Metabolism - lysine degradation; EC 2.1.1.43; Methyltransferase
Cellular Component: condensed chromosome; chromosome; nucleus
Molecular Function: structure-specific DNA binding; protein homodimerization activity; zinc ion binding; single-stranded DNA specific endodeoxyribonuclease activity; histone lysine N-methyltransferase activity (H3-K4 specific); endonuclease activity; double-stranded DNA binding; histone-lysine N-methyltransferase activity; single-stranded DNA binding; histone lysine N-methyltransferase activity (H3-K36 specific)

Product Notes
The Rat SETMAR setmar (Catalog #AAA9318423) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9318423 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat SETMAR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SET domain and mariner transposase fusion gene, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
