Principle of the assay: This experiment use double-sandwich elisa technique and the ELISA Kit provided is typical. The pre-coated antibody is Rat GABRB2 monoclonal antibody and the detecting antibody is polyclonal antibody with biotin labeled. Samples and biotin labeling antibody are added into ELISA plate wells and washed out with PBS or TBS. Then Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added to ELISA wells in order; Use TMB substrate for coloring after reactant thoroughly washed out by PBS or TBS. TMB turns into blue in peroxidase catalytic and finally turns into yellow under the action of acid. The color depth and the testing factors in samples are positively correlated.

NCBI Description

subunit of GABA-A receptors, which induce inhibitory postsynaptic currents; mediates desentization [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

GABRB2: GABA, the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the vertebrate brain, mediates neuronal inhibition by binding to the GABA/benzodiazepine receptor and opening an integral chloride channel. Belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.9) family. Gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor (TC 1.A.9.5) subfamily. GABRB2 sub-subfamily. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transporter, ion channel; Channel, ligand-gated; Channel, chloride; Membrane protein, integral; Transporter; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Cellular Component: postsynaptic membrane; membrane; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; cytosol; cell junction

Molecular Function: protein binding; chloride channel activity; GABA-A receptor activity; GABA receptor activity; inhibitory extracellular ligand-gated ion channel activity

Biological Process: sensory perception of sound; inner ear receptor cell development; regulation of neuron apoptosis; synaptic transmission, GABAergic; neuron development; negative regulation of neuron apoptosis; gamma-aminobutyric acid signaling pathway

Product Notes

The Rat Gabrb2 gabrb2 (Catalog #AAA2602936) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2602936 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat Gabrb2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) A receptor, beta 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
