Reactivity
Rat
Synonyms
BMP-binding endothelial regulator protein (BMPER); Rat BMP-binding endothelial regulator protein (BMPER) ELISA Kit; BMPER elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Rat
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of BMPER. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between BMPER and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between BMPER and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
Samples
Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Assay Type
Quantitative Competitive
Sensitivity
0.1 ng/mL
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for BMPER elisa kit
Intended Uses: This BMPER ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of RatBMPER. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or test applications!

Principle of the Assay: BMPER ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-BMPER antibody and an BMPER-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with BMPER-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the BMPER concentration since BMPER from samples and BMPER-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-BMPER antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by BMPER from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind BMPER-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The BMPER concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a secreted protein that interacts with, and inhibits bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) function. It has been shown to inhibit BMP2- and BMP4-dependent osteoblast differentiation and BMP-dependent differentiation of the chondrogenic cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with a lethal skeletal disorder, diaphanospondylodysostosis. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]

Uniprot Description

BMPER: Inhibitor of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) function, it may regulate BMP responsiveness of osteoblasts and chondrocytes. Defects in BMPER are the cause of diaphanospondylodysostosis (DSD). A rare, recessively inherited, perinatal lethal skeletal disorder. The primary skeletal characteristics of the phenotype include a small chest, abnormal vertebral segmentation, and posterior rib gaps containing incompletely differentiated mesenchymal tissue. Consistent craniofacial features include ocular hypertelorism, epicanthal folds, a depressed nasal bridge with a short nose, and low-set ears. The most commonly described extraskeletal finding is nephroblastomatosis with cystic kidneys, but other visceral findings have been described in some cases.

Protein type: Inhibitor; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p14.3

Product Notes

The Rat BMPER bmper (Catalog #AAA7231827) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7231827 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat BMPER. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BMP-binding endothelial regulator protein (BMPER), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
