Special Note
Ligand binding to RAP is Ca2+ dependent and e.g. lipid receptors can be released from RAP by a buffer containing 10mM EDTA. Furthermore, buffers containing phosphate should be avoided (it would form precipitates with Ca2+).
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized RAP Rat in sterile 18M Omega -cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized RAP Rat although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored between 2-8°C. Do not freeze. After reconstitution should be stored at 20°C.

NCBI Description

Protein contains putative RNA binding domain. Expressed in response to Pseudomonas syringae infection. Resistance requires silencing of AtRAP suggesting it functions as a negative regulator of plant disease resistance.

Uniprot Description

RNA-binding protein required for chloroplast 16S rRNA maturation, an important process which supports chloroplast gene expression and biogenesis. Binds to 16S rRNA precursor and is involved in its 5'-end processing (PubMed:24585838). May act as negative regulator of defense response against bacterial pathogens (PubMed:18003861).

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Receptor Associated, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
