Related Product Information for TG elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Rabbit Thyroglobulin (also known as TG) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Rabbit TG antibody. TG present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rabbit TG Antibody is added and binds to TG in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TG antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rabbit TG. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

Thyroglobulin (Tg) is a glycoprotein homodimer produced predominantly by the thryroid gland. It acts as a substrate for the synthesis of thyroxine and triiodothyronine as well as the storage of the inactive forms of thyroid hormone and iodine. Thyroglobulin is secreted from the endoplasmic reticulum to its site of iodination, and subsequent thyroxine biosynthesis, in the follicular lumen. Mutations in this gene cause thyroid dyshormonogenesis, manifested as goiter, and are associated with moderate to severe congenital hypothyroidism. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with susceptibility to autoimmune thyroid diseases (AITD) such as Graves disease and Hashimoto thryoiditis. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

Uniprot Description

Precursor of the iodinated thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3).

Product Notes

The Rabbit TG tg (Catalog #AAA1601602) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1601602 ELISA Kit recognizes Rabbit TG. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Thyroglobulin, TG, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
