NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
NRP1 is a membrane-bound coreceptor to a tyrosine kinase receptor for both vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF; MIM 192240) and semaphorin (see SEMA3A; MIM 603961) family members. NRP1 plays versatile roles in angiogenesis, axon guidance, cell survival, migration, and invasion.[supplied by OMIM]
Uniprot Description
Function: The membrane-bound isoform 1 is a receptor involved in the development of the cardiovascular system, in angiogenesis, in the formation of certain neuronal circuits and in organogenesis outside the nervous system. It mediates the chemorepulsant activity of semaphorins. It binds to semaphorin 3A, The PLGF-2 isoform of PGF, The VEGF-165 isoform of VEGF and VEGF-B. Coexpression with KDR results in increased VEGF-165 binding to KDR as well as increased chemotaxis. It may regulate VEGF-induced angiogenesis. The soluble isoform 2 binds VEGF-165 and appears to inhibit its binding to cells. It may also induce apoptosis by sequestering VEGF-165. May bind as well various members of the semaphorin family. Its expression has an averse effect on blood vessel number and integrity.
Subunit structure: Homodimer, and heterodimer with NRP2. Binds PLXNB1. Ref.17
Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Isoform 2: Secreted.
Tissue specificity: The expression of isoforms 1 and 2 does not seem to overlap. Isoform 1 is expressed by the blood vessels of different tissues. In the developing embryo it is found predominantly in the nervous system. In adult tissues, it is highly expressed in heart and placenta; moderately in lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas; and low in adult brain. Isoform 2 is found in liver hepatocytes, kidney distal and proximal tubules.
Domain: The tandem CUB domains mediate binding to semaphorin, while the tandem F5/8 domains are responsible for heparin and VEGF binding.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the neuropilin family.Contains 2 CUB domains.Contains 2 F5/8 type C domains.Contains 1 MAM domain.

Product Notes
The Neuropilin-1 (CT) nrp1 (Catalog #AAA462090) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti Neuropilin 1 (CT) antibody reacts with Human, Bovine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Neuropilin-1 (CT) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry. Western Blot: 0.1-1 ug/ml ELISA: 0.01-0.1 ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 2-5 ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Neuropilin-1 (CT) nrp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neuropilin-1 (CT), Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
