Related Product Information for PTK7 recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant human PTK7 (726-end) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.
Scientific Background: PTK7 or pseudo protein tyrosine kinase 7 is a member of the receptor protein tyrosine kinase family of proteins that transduce extracellular signals across the cell membrane. PTK7 lacks detectable catalytic tyrosine kinase activity but is involved in the Wnt signaling pathway and plays a role in multiple cellular processes including polarity and adhesion (1). PTK7 interacts with beta-catenin and functions upstream from glycogen synthase kinase 3. PTK7 has been isolated from colon carcinoma and was designated colon carcinoma kinase-4 (2). In conjunction with other T cell markers, PTK7 has utility as a biomarker for detecting minimal residual disease of T-ALL in the bone marrow.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the receptor protein tyrosine kinase family of proteins that transduce extracellular signals across the cell membrane. The encoded protein lacks detectable catalytic tyrosine kinase activity, is involved in the Wnt signaling pathway and plays a role in multiple cellular processes including polarity and adhesion. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Uniprot Description

CCK4: Inactive tyrosine kinase involved in Wnt signaling pathway. Component of both the non-canonical (also known as the Wnt/planar cell polarity signaling) and the canonical Wnt signaling pathway. Functions in cell adhesion, cell migration, cell polarity, proliferation, actin cytoskeleton reorganization and apoptosis. Has a role in embryogenesis, epithelial tissue organization and angiogenesis. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Tyr protein kinase family. Insulin receptor subfamily. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: CCK4 family; EC 2.7.10.1; Kinase, protein; Membrane protein, integral; Protein kinase, TK; Protein kinase, tyrosine (receptor); TK group

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p21.1

Cellular Component: focal adhesion; intercellular junction

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: actin cytoskeleton reorganization; cell migration; signal transduction; Wnt receptor signaling pathway through beta-catenin

Product Notes

The PTK7 ptk7 (Catalog #AAA515639) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells using baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 726-end. AAA Biotech's PTK7 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PTK7 ptk7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PTK7, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
