Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of ZFP36L2 staining in human lung cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the TIS11 family of early response genes. Family members are induced by various agonists such as the phorbol ester TPA and the polypeptide mitogen EGF. The encoded protein contains a distinguishing putative zinc finger domain with a repeating cys-his motif. This putative nuclear transcription factor most likely functions in regulating the response to growth factors. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ZFP36L2: Probable regulatory protein involved in regulating the response to growth factors. RNA-binding protein that binds to 5'UUAUUUAUUU-3' core sequence. Binds to the class II AU-rich element (ARE) in the 3'-UTR of target mRNAs and promotes their deadenylation and degradation.

Protein type: Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p22.3-p21

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: AU-rich element binding; DNA binding; metal ion binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: cell proliferation; hemopoiesis; mRNA catabolic process; mRNA catabolic process, deadenylation-dependent decay; regulation of mRNA stability; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; somatic stem cell division; somatic stem cell maintenance; T cell differentiation in the thymus

Product Notes

The ZFP36L2 zfp36l2 (Catalog #AAA8242097) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-ZFP36L2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Bovine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ZFP36L2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Western Blot: (1/500 - 1/1000); Immunohistochemistry: (1/100 - 1/200). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ZFP36L2 zfp36l2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ZFP36L2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
