Related Product Information for anti-ZAK antibody
Stress-activated component of a protein kinase signal transduction cascade. Regulates the JNK and p38 pathways. Part of a signaling cascade that begins with the activation of the adrenergic receptor ADRA1B and leads to the activation of MAPK14. Pro-apoptotic. Role in regulation of S and G2 cell cycle checkpoint by direct phosphorylation of CHEK2. Involved in limb development.Phosphorylates histone H3 at 'Ser-28'. May have role in neoplastic cell transformation and cancer development. Causes cell shrinkage and disruption of actin stress fibers.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the MAPKKK family of signal transduction molecules and encodes a protein with an N-terminal kinase catalytic domain, followed by a leucine zipper motif and a sterile-alpha motif (SAM). This magnesium-binding protein forms homodimers and is located in the cytoplasm. The protein mediates gamma radiation signaling leading to cell cycle arrest and activity of this protein plays a role in cell cycle checkpoint regulation in cells. The protein also has pro-apoptotic activity. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The ZAK mltk (Catalog #AAA9614196) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Phospho-ZAK (Ser165) Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse Predicted Reactivity: Pig (100%), Bovine (100%), Sheep (100%), Rabbit (100%), Dog (100%), Chicken (88%) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ZAK can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Peptide ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:1000-3000 IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500 Peptide ELISA: 1:20,000-1:40,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ZAK mltk for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ZAK, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
