Rabbit X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis Polyclonal Antibody | anti-XIAP antibody
Rabbit anti-human X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis polyclonal Antibody
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to a family of apoptotic suppressor proteins. Members of this family share a conserved motif termed, baculovirus IAP repeat, which is necessary for their anti-apoptotic function. This protein functions through binding to tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factors TRAF1 and TRAF2 and inhibits apoptosis induced by menadione, a potent inducer of free radicals, and interleukin 1-beta converting enzyme. This protein also inhibits at least two members of the caspase family of cell-death proteases, caspase-3 and caspase-7. Mutations in this gene are the cause of X-linked lymphoproliferative syndrome. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosomes 2 and 11.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]
Uniprot Description
XIAP: an apoptotic suppressor protein. Inhibist apoptosis through binding to tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factors TRAF1 and TRAF2. Inhibits apoptosis induced by menadione, a potent inducer of free radicals, and ICE. Inhibits cell-death proteases, caspase-3, caspase-7, and perhaps caspase-9.

Product Notes
The XIAP xiap (Catalog #AAA711171) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti-human X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the XIAP xiap for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
