NCBI Description

POC1 proteins contain an N-terminal WD40 domain and a C-terminal coiled coil domain and are part of centrosomes. They play an important role in basal body and cilia formation. This gene encodes one of the two POC1 proteins found in humans. Mutations in this gene result in short stature, onychodysplasia, facial dysmorphism, and hypotrichosis (SOFT) syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2012]

Uniprot Description

Plays an important role in centriole assembly and/or stability and ciliogenesis. Involved in early steps of centriole duplication, as well as in the later steps of centriole length control. Acts in concert with POC1B to ensure centriole integrity and proper mitotic spindle formation.

Product Notes

The WDR51A poc1a (Catalog #AAA859889) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The WDR51A Antibody reacts with Human Predicted: Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's WDR51A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:20,000-1:80,000 WB: 1:200-1:1,000 IHC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the WDR51A poc1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "WDR51A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
