Uniprot Description

VTN: Vitronectin is a cell adhesion and spreading factor found in serum and tissues. Vitronectin interact with glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans. Is recognized by certain members of the integrin family and serves as a cell-to-substrate adhesion molecule. Inhibitor of the membrane-damaging effect of the terminal cytolytic complement pathway.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide; Cell adhesion

Cellular Component: extracellular matrix; extracellular space; proteinaceous extracellular matrix; extracellular region

Molecular Function: integrin binding; heparin binding; extracellular matrix binding; scavenger receptor activity; polysaccharide binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; positive regulation of protein binding; cell-matrix adhesion; cell adhesion mediated by integrin; immune response; positive regulation of smooth muscle cell migration; cell adhesion; positive regulation of receptor-mediated endocytosis

Product Notes

The VTN vtn (Catalog #AAA135295) is an Antibody produced from Host: Rabbit; Source: Rabbit serum and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti mouse vitronectin IgG fraction reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's vitronectin IgG fraction can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunofluorescence (IF). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VTN vtn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "vitronectin IgG fraction, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
