Related Product Information for anti-VIPR1 antibody
This gene encodes a receptor for vasoactive intestinal peptide, a small neuropeptide. Vasoactive intestinal peptide is involved in smooth muscle relaxation, exocrine and endocrine secretion, and water and ion flux in lung and intestinal epithelia. Its actions are effected through integral membrane receptors associated with a guanine nucleotide binding protein which activates adenylate cyclase.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a receptor for vasoactive intestinal peptide, a small neuropeptide. Vasoactive intestinal peptide is involved in smooth muscle relaxation, exocrine and endocrine secretion, and water and ion flux in lung and intestinal epithelia. Its actions are effected through integral membrane receptors associated with a guanine nucleotide binding protein which activates adenylate cyclase. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

Uniprot Description

VIPR1: This is a receptor for VIP. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. The affinity is VIP = PACAP-27 > PACAP-38. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, integral; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; GPCR, family 2

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3p22

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; receptor complex

Molecular Function: protein binding; vasoactive intestinal polypeptide receptor activity

Biological Process: synaptic transmission; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; G-protein signaling, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger; muscle contraction; positive regulation of cell proliferation; digestion; immune response

Product Notes

The VIPR1 vipr1 (Catalog #AAA6362589) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The VIPR1, CT (VIPR1, Vasoactive intestinal polypeptide receptor 1, Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide type II receptor, VPAC1) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VIPR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VIPR1 vipr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VIPR1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
