NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Kindlins are a small family of proteins that mediate protein-protein interactions involved in integrin activation and thereby have a role in cell adhesion, migration, differentiation, and proliferation. The protein encoded by this gene has a key role in the regulation of hemostasis and thrombosis. This protein may also help maintain the membrane skeleton of erythrocytes. Mutations in this gene cause the autosomal recessive leukocyte adhesion deficiency syndrome-III (LAD-III). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. Uniprot Description
kindlin-3: Plays a central role in cell adhesion in hematopoietic cells. Acts by activating the integrin beta-1-3 (ITGB1, ITGB2 and ITGB3). Required for integrin-mediated platelet adhesion and leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells. Required for activation of integrin beta-2 (ITGB2) in polymorphonuclear granulocytes (PMNs). Defects in FERMT3 are the cause of leukocyte adhesion deficiency type 3 (LAD3); also called leukocyte adhesion deficiency 1 variant (LAD1v). LAD3 is a rare syndrome characterized by infections without pus formation in the presence of a leukocytosis combined with a Glanzmann-type bleeding disorder, resulting from a hematopoietic defect in integrin activation. Symptoms arise from an inability to activate the integrins expressed on hematopoietic cells, including platelets and leukocytes. Belongs to the kindlin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The URP2 fermt3 (Catalog #AAA243110) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human URP2 / FERMT3 reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's URP2 / FERMT3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (5 ug/ml), WB (1 ug/ml) Usage: KINDLIN3 antibody can be used for detection of KINDLIN3 by Western blot at 1 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the URP2 fermt3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "URP2 / FERMT3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
