Uniprot Description
uPA: Specifically cleave the zymogen plasminogen to form the active enzyme plasmin. Defects in PLAU are the cause of Quebec platelet disorder (QPD). QPD is an autosomal dominant bleeding disorder due to a gain-of-function defect in fibrinolysis. Although affected individuals do not exhibit systemic fibrinolysis, they show delayed onset bleeding after challenge, such as surgery. The hallmark of the disorder is markedly increased PLAU levels within platelets, which causes intraplatelet plasmin generation and secondary degradation of alpha-granule proteins. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The PLAU plau (Catalog #
AAA135235) is an Antibody produced from Host: Rabbit; Source: Rabbit serum and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti mouse uPA IgG fraction reacts with Mouse, rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's uPA IgG fraction can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLAU plau for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"uPA IgG fraction, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
