NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) family. This kinase is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Signalling through this kinase leads to cell differentiation and may play a role in the development of proprioceptive neurons that sense body position. Mutations in this gene have been associated with medulloblastomas, secretory breast carcinomas and other cancers. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
Uniprot Description
TrkC: a receptor tyrosine kinase of the TRK family. Receptor for neurotrophin-3 (NT-3). Known substrates for the trk receptors are SHC, PI-3 kinase, and PLCG1. Four alternatively spliced isoforms are known.

Product Notes
The Trk C ntrk3 (Catalog #AAA9611193) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Trk C Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat Predicted: Pig, Bovine, Horse, Chicken and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Trk C can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Peptide ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 ELISA (Peptide): 1:20000-1:40000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Trk C ntrk3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Trk C, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
