Related Product Information for anti-TRIM3 antibody
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family, also called the 'RING-B-box-coiled-coil' (RBCC) subgroup of RING finger proteins. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. This protein localizes to cytoplasmic filaments. It is similar to a rat protein which is a specific partner for the tail domain of myosin V, a class of myosins which are involved in the targeted transport of organelles. The rat protein can also interact with alpha-actinin-4.

NCBI Description

Thus it is suggested that this human protein may play a role in myosin V-mediated cargo transport. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same isoform have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TRIM3: Probably involved in vesicular trafficking via its association with the CART complex. The CART complex is necessary for efficient transferrin receptor recycling but not for EGFR degradation. Belongs to the TRIM/RBCC family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ubiquitin conjugating system; Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15.5

Cellular Component: early endosome; cytoplasm

Molecular Function: protein C-terminus binding; protein binding; zinc ion binding; ubiquitin-protein ligase activity

Biological Process: nervous system development; protein transport; protein ubiquitination

Product Notes

The TRIM3 trim3 (Catalog #AAA9403022) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TRIM3 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TRIM3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRIM3 trim3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRIM3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
