Related Product Information for anti-TRAP1 antibody
Background Info: Detects TRAP1. Detects ~75 kDa, multiple isoforms.

Scientific Background: The 90 kDa heat shock protein (hsp90) family of molecular chaperones is a highly conserved family of proteins that play an important physiological role. Hsp90 is involved in numerous cellular processes but is best known for its association with signal transduction machinery. A recently cloned homolog of hsp90 is the tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated protein (TRAP1). Like hsp90, TRAP1 is found to beassociated with numerous proteins involved in diverse actions (1, 2). Immunofluorescence data has shown TRAP1 to be localized in the mitochondria of mammalian cells. This observation and the fact that TRAP1 is shown to have a mitochondrial targeting presequence strongly implicates TRAP1 as a mitochondrial matrix protein (3).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a mitochondrial chaperone protein that is member of the heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) family. The encoded protein has ATPase activity and interacts with tumor necrosis factor type I. This protein may function in regulating cellular stress responses. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]

Product Notes

The TRAP1 trap1 (Catalog #AAA806361) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TRAP1 Antibody: Biotin reacts with Human, Rat, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TRAP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). 1:1000 (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRAP1 trap1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRAP1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
