Biological Significance
TRAIL is a cytotoxic protein, which activates rapid apoptosis in tumor cells, but not in normal cells. TRAIL induced apoptosis is achieved through binding to two death-signaling receptors, DR4 and DR5. These receptors belong to the TNFR superfamily of transmembrane proteins and contain a cytoplasmic ?death domain?, which activates the cell?s apoptotic machinery.
Immunogen
TRAIL antibody was raised in rabbit using highly pure recombinant human TRAIL/Apo2L as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C until reconstitution. Following reconstitution product may be stored at 4 degree C in the short term. For long term storage aliquot and freeze at -20 degree C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
