Related Product Information for anti-TRAF5 antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for TNF receptor-associated factor 5(TRAF5) detection. Tested with WB in Human.
Background: TNF receptor-associated factor 5, also known as RNF84, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TRAF5 gene. The scaffold protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor(TRAF) protein family. Fluorescence in situ hybridization confirmed the regional localization of human TRAF5 to chromosome 1q32.2-q32.3. This protein is one of the components of a multiple protein complex which binds to tumor necrosis factor(TNF) receptor cytoplasmic domains and mediates TNF-induced activation. It is an adapter protein and signal transducer that links members of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family to different signaling pathways by association with the receptor cytoplasmic domain and kinases. It seems to be involved in apoptosis.

NCBI Description

The scaffold protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor (TRAF) protein family and contains a meprin and TRAF homology (MATH) domain, a RING-type zinc finger, and two TRAF-type zinc fingers. TRAF proteins are associated with, and mediate signal transduction from members of the TNF receptor superfamily. This protein is one of the components of a multiple protein complex which binds to tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor cytoplasmic domains and mediates TNF-induced activation. Alternate transcriptional splice variants have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TRAF5: Adapter protein and signal transducer that links members of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family to different signaling pathways by association with the receptor cytoplasmic domain and kinases. Mediates activation of NF-kappa-B and probably JNK. Seems to be involved in apoptosis. Belongs to the TNF receptor-associated factor family. A subfamily.

Protein type: Ubiquitin conjugating system; Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q32

Cellular Component: centrosome; internal side of plasma membrane; cytoplasm; cytosol

Molecular Function: signal transducer activity; protein binding; zinc ion binding; ubiquitin protein ligase binding; thioesterase binding; ubiquitin-protein ligase activity

Biological Process: regulation of apoptosis; positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; apoptosis; positive regulation of cell proliferation; protein ubiquitination; positive regulation of transcription factor activity; signal transduction; activation of NF-kappaB transcription factor

Product Notes

The TRAF5 traf5 (Catalog #AAA176350) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-TRAF5 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TRAF5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRAF5 traf5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRAF5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
