NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene is a member of the transformer 2 homolog family and encodes a protein with two RS domains and an RRM (RNA recognition motif) domain. This phosphorylated nuclear protein binds to specific RNA sequences and plays a role in the regulation of pre-mRNA splicing. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described; however, the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
TRA2A: Sequence-specific RNA-binding protein which participates in the control of pre-mRNA splicing. Belongs to the splicing factor SR family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: RNA-binding; RNA splicing; RNA processing
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p15.3
Cellular Component: intracellular membrane-bound organelle; nucleolus; nucleus
Molecular Function: nucleotide binding
Biological Process: nuclear mRNA splicing, via spliceosome

Product Notes
The TRA2A tra2a (Catalog #AAA7117179) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TRA2A Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TRA2A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:100-1:300 IF: 1:200-1:1000 ELISA: 1:20000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRA2A tra2a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRA2A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
