NCBI Description

The Tousled-like kinases, first described in Arabidopsis, are nuclear serine/threonine kinases that are potentially involved in the regulation of chromatin assembly.[supplied by OMIM]

Uniprot Description

TLK1: a protein kinase of the TLK family. Rapidly and transiently inhibited by phosphorylation following the generation of DNA double-stranded breaks during S-phase. This is cell cycle checkpoint and ATM-pathway dependent and appears to regulate processes involved in chromatin assembly. Isoform 3 phosphorylates and enhances the stability of the t-SNARE SNAP23, augmenting its assembly with syntaxin. Cell-cycle regulated, maximal activity in S-phase. Inactivated by phosphorylation, possibly by CHK1. Three splice variant isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Kinase, protein; EC 2.7.11.1; Protein kinase, Other; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); Other group; TLK family

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q31.1

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: protein serine/threonine kinase activity; ATP binding

Biological Process: intracellular protein transport; regulation of chromatin assembly or disassembly; chromatin modification; cell cycle; protein amino acid phosphorylation; response to DNA damage stimulus

Product Notes

The TLK1 (Catalog #AAA628091) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TLK1, CT (Serine/Threonine-protein Kinase Tousled-like 1, Tousled-like Kinase 1, PKU-beta) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TLK1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-1:500 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TLK1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TLK1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
