NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the TIS11 family of early response genes, which are induced by various agonists such as the phorbol ester TPA and the polypeptide mitogen EGF. This gene is well conserved across species and has a promoter that contains motifs seen in other early-response genes. The encoded protein contains a distinguishing putative zinc finger domain with a repeating cys-his motif. This putative nuclear transcription factor most likely functions in regulating the response to growth factors. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Uniprot Description

BRF1: a zinc finger protein that plays an important role in the assembly of the RNA polymerase III initiation factor TFIIIB. Regulates mRNA levels by targeting transcripts containing AREs (AU-rich elements) into the decay pathway. Phosphorylation by Akt apparently generates 14-3-3 binding sites and inhibits BRF1 from promoting mRNA activity.Contains 2 C3H1-type zinc fingers.

Protein type: Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q22-q24

Cellular Component: nucleus; cytosol

Molecular Function: mRNA binding; protein binding; DNA binding; metal ion binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: neural tube development; regulation of translation; cell proliferation; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; apoptosis; heart development; multicellular organism growth; T cell differentiation in the thymus; gene expression; vasculogenesis; regulation of mRNA stability; mRNA catabolic process, deadenylation-dependent decay

Product Notes

The TISB zfp36l1 (Catalog #AAA9414544) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TISB (Phospho-Ser92) Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TISB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western blotting: 1:500~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TISB zfp36l1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TISB, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
