NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily, and TIM family of proteins. CD4-positive T helper lymphocytes can be divided into types 1 (Th1) and 2 (Th2) on the basis of their cytokine secretion patterns. Th1 cells are involved in cell-mediated immunity to intracellular pathogens and delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions, whereas, Th2 cells are involved in the control of extracellular helminthic infections and the promotion of atopic and allergic diseases. This protein is a Th1-specific cell surface protein that regulates macrophage activation, and inhibits Th1-mediated auto- and alloimmune responses, and promotes immunological tolerance. Uniprot Description
TIM-3: Regulates macrophage activation. Inhibits T-helper type 1 lymphocyte (Th1)-mediated auto- and alloimmune responses and promotes immunological tolerance. May be also involved in T-cell homing. Receptor for LGALS9. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. TIM family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The TIM-3 havcr2 (Catalog #AAA224005) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GOAT ANTI HUMAN TIM-3 reacts with Dog (Expected from Sequence) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TIM-3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 35kDa in human tonsil, spleen, lymph node and thymus cell lysates ELISA: Maximum Dilution: 1/32000 Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.3; Maximum Dilution: 1.0ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TIM-3 havcr2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TIM-3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
