Target Description: The TFDP genes encode a family of transcription factors that can form heterodimers with E2F family proteins in vivo. The E2F-TFDP transcription factors are major regulators of genes that are required for the progression of S-phase, such as DHFR and DNA polymerase alpha, and they play a critical role in cell cycle regulation and differentiation.

NCBI Description

The gene is a member of the transcription factor DP family. The encoded protein forms heterodimers with the E2F transcription factors resulting in transcriptional activation of cell cycle regulated genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Uniprot Description

TFDP2: Can stimulate E2F-dependent transcription. Binds DNA cooperatively with E2F family members through the E2 recognition site, 5'-TTTC[CG]CGC-3', found in the promoter region of a number of genes whose products are involved in cell cycle regulation or in DNA replication. The DP2/E2F complex functions in the control of cell-cycle progression from G1 to S phase. The E2F1/DP complex appears to mediate both cell proliferation and apoptosis. Belongs to the E2F/DP family. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The TFDP2 tfdp2 (Catalog #AAA3201530) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TFDP2 antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TFDP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TFDP2 tfdp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MIISTPQRLT SSGSVLIGSP YTPAPAMVTQ THIAEATGWV PGDRKRARKF. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TFDP2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
