NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family. The protein interacts with thromboxane A2 to induce platelet aggregation and regulate hemostasis. A mutation in this gene results in a bleeding disorder. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
Uniprot Description
TXA2-R: Receptor for thromboxane A2 (TXA2), a potent stimulator of platelet aggregation. The activity of this receptor is mediated by a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. In the kidney, the binding of TXA2 to glomerular TP receptors causes intense vasoconstriction. Activates phospholipase C. Isoform 1 activates adenylyl cyclase. Isoform 2 inhibits adenylyl cyclase. Defects in TBXA2R are the cause of susceptibility to bleeding disorder platelet-type 13 (BDPLT13). BDPLT13 is a disorder characterized by reduced platelet aggregation and a tendency to mild mucocutaneous bleeding. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The TBXA2R tbxa2r (Catalog #AAA7130079) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TBXA2R Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TBXA2R can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:2000-1:5000 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:30-1:150. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TBXA2R tbxa2r for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TBXA2R, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
