NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a highly conserved, putative transmembrane protein. A mutation in the mouse ortholog of this gene results in homeotic, posterior-to-anterior transformations of the axial skeleton which are similar to the phenotype of mouse homeobox C8 gene mutants. This gene is proposed to function downstream of homeobox C8 to transduce extracellular patterning information during axial skeleton development. An alternatively spliced transcript variant encoding a substantially different isoform has been described, but its biological validity has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
TAPT1: May act as a downstream effector of HOXC8 possibly by transducing or transmitting extracellular information required for axial skeletal patterning during development. In case of infection, may act as a fusion receptor for cytomegalovirus (HCMV) strain AD169. Belongs to the TAPT1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4p15.32
Cellular Component: integral to membrane
Molecular Function: growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor activity
Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; in utero embryonic development; embryonic skeletal development; post-embryonic development

Product Notes
The TAPT1 tapt1 (Catalog #AAA6353578) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TAPT1, CT (TAPT1, CMVFR, Transmembrane anterior posterior transformation protein 1 homolog, Cytomegalovirus partial fusion receptor) (AP) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TAPT1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TAPT1 tapt1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TAPT1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
