NCBI Description

This gene encodes a nuclear protein that functions in the regulation of polyadenylation and promotes gene expression. The protein forms a high-molecular weight complex with components of the polyadenylation machinery. It is thought to serve as a scaffold for recruiting regulatory factors to the polyadenylation complex. It also participates in 3'-end maturation of histone mRNAs, which do not undergo polyadenylation. The protein also localizes to the cytoplasmic plaques of tight junctions in some cell types. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Scaffold protein that functions as a component of a multimolecular complex involved in histone mRNA 3'-end processing. Specific component of the tight junction (TJ) plaque, but might not be an exclusively junctional component. May have a house-keeping rule. Is involved in pre-mRNA polyadenylation. Enhances SSU72 phosphatase activity.

Product Notes

The SYMPK sympk (Catalog #AAA8292666) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Symplekin Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Symplekin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1/500 - 1/2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SYMPK sympk for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Symplekin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
