Background: SF1(splicing factor 1), also known as zinc finger protein 162(ZFM162), ZNF162, Transcription factor ZFM1, ZFM1, D11S636, Mammalian branch point-binding protein(BBP, mBBP), Zinc finger gene in MEN1 locus, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SF1 gene. It is predicted 623-amino acid protein. RT-PCR was used to show expression in the thyroid gland, pancreas, adrenal gland, and ovary. All of the ZNF162 isoforms contain a KH domain, a sequence motif present in proteins playinig a major role in regulating cellular RNA metabolism.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a nuclear pre-mRNA splicing factor. The encoded protein specifically recognizes the intron branch point sequence and is required for the early stages of spliceosome assembly. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Uniprot Description
SF1: a splicing factor necessary for the ATP-dependent first step of spliceosome assembly. Binds to the intron branch point sequence (BPS) 5'-UACUAAC-3' of the pre-mRNA. May act as transcription repressor. Phosphorylation of SF1 by cGMP-dependent protein kinase regulates spliceosome assembly. Binds U2AF2. Interacts with U1 snRNA. Binds EWSR1, FUS and TAF15. Six alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes
The SF1 sf1 (Catalog #AAA176161) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-splicing factor 1 antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's splicing factor 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin, Immunocytochemistry ICC. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SF1 sf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "splicing factor 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
