NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene is a member of the sclerostin family and encodes an N-glycosylated, secreted protein with a C-terminal cystine knot-like domain. This protein functions as a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) antagonist. Specifically, it directly associates with BMPs, prohibiting them from binding their receptors, thereby regulating BMP signaling during cellular proliferation, differentiation, and programmed cell death. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
SOSTDC1: May be involved in the onset of endometrial receptivity for implantation/sensitization for the decidual cell reaction Enhances Wnt signaling and inhibits TGF-beta signaling. Directly antagonizes activity of BMP2, BMP4, BMP6 and BMP7 in a dose-dependent manner. Belongs to the sclerostin family.
Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p21.1

Product Notes
The SOSTDC1 sostdc1 (Catalog #AAA6349883) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SOSTDC1, CT (SOSTDC1, USAG1, Sclerostin domain-containing protein 1, Ectodermal BMP inhibitor, Uterine sensitization-associated gene 1 protein) (Biotin) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SOSTDC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SOSTDC1 sostdc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SOSTDC1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
