Cellular Location
Cytoplasm, cytosol. Nucleus. Note=SMN-mediated assembly into core snRNPs occurs in the cytosol before SMN- mediated transport to the nucleus to be included in spliceosomes
Function
Plays role in pre-mRNA splicing as corecomponent of the SMN- Sm complex thatmediates spliceosomal snRNP assembly andas component of the spliceosomal U1, U2,U4 and U5 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins(snRNPs), the building blocks of thespliceosome (PubMed:11991638,PubMed:18984161,PubMed:19325628,PubMed:23333303,PubMed:25555158,PubMed:26912367
,PubMed:28502770,PubMed:28781166,PubMed:28076346).Component of both the pre-catalyticspliceosome B complex and activatedspliceosome C complexes (PubMed:11991638,PubMed:26912367,PubMed:28502770,PubMed:28781166,PubMed:28076346). Is also acomponent of the minor U12 spliceosome(PubMed:15146077). May actas a charged protein scaffold to promotesnRNP assembly or strengthensnRNP-snRNP interactions throughnon-specific electrostatic contacts with RNA(Probable).
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a small nuclear ribonucleoprotein that belongs to the SNRNP core protein family. The protein may act as a charged protein scaffold to promote SNRNP assembly or strengthen SNRNP-SNRNP interactions through nonspecific electrostatic contacts with RNA. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2014]

Product Notes

The SNRPD1 snrpd1 (Catalog #AAA9201530) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 46-78. The SNRPD1 Antibody (Center) reacts with Human Predicted Reactivity: Bovine, Monkey, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SNRPD1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB~~1:1000 IHC-P~~1:50~100 FC~~1:10~50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SNRPD1 snrpd1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SNRPD1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
