NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the SWI/SNF family of proteins and is highly similar to the brahma protein of Drosophila. Members of this family have helicase and ATPase activities and are thought to regulate transcription of certain genes by altering the chromatin structure around those genes. The encoded protein is part of the large ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex SNF/SWI, which is required for transcriptional activation of genes normally repressed by chromatin. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene, which contains a trinucleotide repeat (CAG) length polymorphism. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]

Uniprot Description

SMARCA2: an enzyme with ATP-dependent DNA helicase activity. A transcriptional coactivator that cooperates with nuclear hormone receptors to potentiate transcriptional activation. Binds TOPBP1. Belongs to the SNF2/RAD54 helicase family. Two alternatively spliced human isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The SMARCA2 smarca2 (Catalog #AAA7117290) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SMARCA2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SMARCA2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 ELISA: 1:20000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SMARCA2 smarca2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SMARCA2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
